Voting From Home is Safe and Easy!

COVID-19 has thrown us a lot of curves. But Ypsilanti knows how to stay strong. We work together to make our community better

We vote to choose the people who work for us. But how can we vote when it still may be dangerous to go out into crowds? We vote from home!

There are many advantages to voting from home.

  • You can take your time with your ballot, call friends and ask them about candidates while you vote!

  • Avoid the stress of waiting in long line on election day.  (There may be fewer polling places open due to COVID)

  • Show your civic pride by meeting friends and family at the clerk's office to drop your ballots off together. (Keeping proper social distance and wearing masks of course!)

And voting from home has never been easier.

Every registered voter will receive an absentee ballot application in the mail.
If you misplaced your application, call your city or township clerk and they will get you another one. Fill out & return the application by mail, in person or by e-mail

You can even apply for any application ON-LINE now at mi.gov/vote.

TIME IS TICKING. APPLY FOR YOUR BALLOT NO LATER THAN JULY 20th TO BE SURE IT ARRIVES WITH TIME FOR YOU TO SEND IT BACK.

If it is past July 20th, we suggest you go directly to your clerk’s office to get an absentee ballot from the the clerk on the spot.

Whatever you do…. Don't get caught without the option to vote!

This video is the first in a series about how to keep on voting even during a pandemic. We explain how to apply for and receive a ballot so you can vote from home.. For information on What’s on your Ballot click here.
