County Elections are a Big Deal

UPDATE FOR 2022: County Commissioners are the only county-wide positions up for election this year - Nov. 2022.

We all know that big elections happen in November. But a lot of really important ones happen in the Summer when everybody is out enjoying the weather or taking a vacation. In the lead up to November, each political party holds primaries to see who will represent them on the November 3rd ballot.

But because Washtenaw County is a heavily Democratic (blue) area, it is our summertime primaries that often determine who is elected to these posts. By the time November comes around, our Prosecutor, Sheriff, and County Commissioners will already be chosen. So remember to vote in EVERY election!
